Little Wings
Dance. Create. Connect.
Introducing our educational creative movement program for children. At Pegasus Contemporary Ballet, dance is more than movement—it’s a living art form that sparks creativity, connection, and self-expression across all ages. Our program brings ballet beyond the stage, transforming communities by nurturing curiosity, imagination, and human connection.
Little Wings: Take Flight into Creativity
Little Wings invites children to explore ballet through storytelling, creative movement, and playful games. Designed to blend learning with play and nurture each child’s unique pace, this program helps young learners:
- Develop coordination, balance, and foundational ballet skills
- Build confidence, resilience, and creative problem-solving
- Experience joy in self-expression and imaginative exploration
Every class turns skill-building into adventure. Our instructors guide children with warmth, flexibility, and intentional creativity, ensuring every student feels seen, supported, and empowered.

Meet Our Program Director

Kiera Mays
Kiera Mays has been a company dancer with Pegasus since our first season to present. Teaching dance has always been a secondary passion in tandem to performance for Kiera. With Little Wings, she was inspired by the creativity and imagination children have naturally, and built a curriculum that caters to the Little Wings client — our students. As a dancer instructor, Kiera follows a humanistic approach which acknowledges the person first, dancer second.
“What I am creating is an environment that fosters creativity and emboldens children to be confident in their artistic choices. In doing so, not only will they begin to tap into early potential for artistic creativity but also encourage confidence in themselves for any endeavor. All dancers are people first, even the youngest student. Creativity grows better leaders, insightful intellectuals, groundbreaking artists, and a brighter future for our community as a whole.
Why It Matters: Pegasus Programs in Action
Little Wings demonstrates how dance can:
- Inspire curiosity, creativity, and lifelong engagement with the arts
- Foster meaningful connections within communities
- Empower participants to express themselves through movement, no matter their age or ability
Our programs meet participants where they are physically, emotionally, and creatively, showing that dance is not just an art form—it’s a shared experience that can inspire, heal, and connect.
