Synergy: Dallas Music in Motion

Synergy: Dallas Music In Motion celebrates the vibrant popular music scene of Dallas with three new choreographic works created in collaboration with Dallas-based musicians, presented at the Moody Performance Hall. Live performance collaborations span the genres of Jazz/Fusion, Alternative Electronic, and Americana Singer/Songwriter. You do not want to miss this collaborative production that showcases the combined creativity, energy, and passion of Dallas’s performing artists.

Commissions include collaborations between internationally award-winning choreographer Joshua L. Peugh and award-winning Dallas-based Jazz Fusion musician Kwinton Gray; choreographer and soloist Daniel Ojeda and Dallas Singer/Songwriter Dev Wulf; and Artistic Director Diana Crowder and Dallas-based electronic music producer and composer Elkin Pautt.

Synergy, Dallas Music In Motion is an exciting and unique opportunity to witness the coming together of artists across multiple genres and cultures. Exclusively featuring Dallas-based musicians, the production will showcase not only the distinctive talents of Dallas’s performing artists, but also the exhilarating results when such talents exchange ideas and share the stage.

A New Evening Length Narrative Work by Carrie Ruth Trumbo

Pegasus Contemporary Ballet returns in June with a new evening-length narrative work choreographed and conceptualized by Resident Choreographer Carrie Ruth Trumbo. We are thrilled to announce that this program will be presented at the historic Kalita Humphreys Theater, bringing innovative dance to this renowned theatrical space.

A rising choreographic voice, Trumbo’s first three works for the company were received with wide acclaim by audiences and patrons. Discover the power of storytelling in her first full-length contemporary ballet.

Fall Into Dance

Fall Into Dance is a special production that welcomes audience engagement. The program features two world premiere works by choreographers Carrie Ruth Trumbo and Sean Aaron Carmon in the intimate setting of the beautiful new black box theater at the Latino Cultural Center. Following each work, we will invite the audience to share a moderated conversation with the choreographer, discovering insights about the artistic process and deepening the connection with the experience. This peek behind the curtain offers an entertaining, engaging, and intimate opportunity for audiences to Fall Into Dance.

We are excited to announce that with the purchase of a ticket to the Saturday matinee performance, patrons may register for a master class with Pegasus Contemporary Ballet Artistic Leadership following the performance. Perfect for young dancers ages 12 and up, adult students, or dance patrons who are inspired to dive deeper and learn from the artists of Pegasus Contemporary Ballet.

Ballet Class in the Park

Join Pegasus Contemporary Ballet at Main Street Garden Park for FREE ballet classes sponsored by our friends at Downtown Dallas Inc. Company dancers Kiera Mays and Lacy Brent are teaching this eight class series on Thursdays at 7pm through the Fall. Participants will be guided through a fun introduction to ballet that is great for all ages. No dance experience is necessary, come ready to learn the basics, move, and have fun!

Represented In Movement

Pegasus Contemporary Ballet is thrilled to present Represented In Movement in collaboration with The DASH Ensemble July 22-23 at the Moody Performance Hall. Represented In Movement is a multi-genre production that showcases choreographic works of both contemporary dance and contemporary ballet from two of Dallas’s most cutting-edge professional dance companies. The program includes original works by Pegasus Contemporary Ballet and the expanded staging of The Power of Collision, a unique hybrid of dance and visual magic by The DASH Ensemble. The two companies will also combine forces with an inter-disciplinary collaboration on the program entitled Parallel. This one of a kind work will feature a dancer from each company, commissioned by Pegasus Contemporary Ballet Artistic Director Diana Crowder and choreographed by The DASH Ensemble Artistic Director Gregory Dolbashian.

Represented In Movement brings together artists from varied perspectives, backgrounds, and movement styles to create an enriched evening of dance for all audiences. Don’t miss this opportunity to see Dallas’s two newest professional companies take the stage at Moody Performance Hall for the first time.

Pints on Pointe

Join Pegasus Contemporary Ballet at Pegasus City Brewery for a fun and casual evening of beer and ballet! Pegasus Contemporary Ballet will be hanging out and sharing a performance at the beautiful Pegasus City Brewery Downtown Taproom! Come enjoy a pint or refreshing flight of Dallas-made beer while you check out what contemporary ballet is all about, get a behind the scenes look at the process of making a dance, and meet the dancers!

$10 cover goes to Pegasus Contemporary Ballet, a 501c3 non-profit organization. We are raising funds to continue our mission of using ballet to express contemporary perspectives and engage today’s audiences. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Suite: An Immersive Art Collaboration

Join us for a one night only event unlike any other. Pegasus Contemporary Ballet presents Suite performed at the renowned Samuel Lynne Galleries with choreography by Bruce McCormick and original artwork by JD Miller. Suite is a site-specific and engaging evening of performance that brings together paint, music and dance.

Enjoy a glass of wine and browse the current exhibitions as a dance performance is presented throughout the gallery over the course of the evening. We are pleased to bring Bruce McCormick to Dallas for the first time as a visiting artist to choreograph this collaborative work with costumes painted by JD Miller and live violist accompaniment by Liesl-Ann DeVilliers.

VIP tickets include a pre-show talk and Q&A with the choreographer and Artistic Director at 7pm. The performance will begin at 8pm.
Student rush tickets (50% off with valid ID) will be available for purchase at the door starting at 7:30pm.

Take Flight: The Inaugural Performance

Featuring: The Gift Of The Magi and Verdigris Ensemble.

Be the first to see Pegasus Contemporary Ballet spread its wings and take flight! We are thrilled to present our first program the weekend before Thanksgiving at Arts Mission Oak Cliff.

Kick off the Holiday Season with The Gift of the Magi, a new work inspired by the classic short story by O. Henry, choreographed by Artistic Director Diana Crowder with a commissioned original score by Dallas musician Martin Morgan.

Pegasus Contemporary Ballet and Verdigris Ensemble are joining forces for an exquisite presentation of live choral music and dance. Verdigris Ensemble will perform four original compositions from the winners of the 2019 and 2021 ION composer competition. ION strives to identify and support creative DFW students and residents through the art of choral music, and we are pleased to present works that did not get the opportunity for performance exposure due to the Pandemic. These compositions will be performed with world premiere choreography by Artistic Associate Carolyn Ruth Trumbo, bringing innovative choral music and dance together in the intimate setting of the beautiful performance hall at Arts Mission Oak Cliff.
